Reliability and Maintenance Upgrades
Lets get this bike to be as enjoyable as possible.
Looking for some more power?
3rd Engine Mount
This grom clone is known for being a bit shaky and can have a bit of a vibration issue. The most popular upgrade is the 3rd engine mount. This is not a direct fit and will require some drilling of the mount to get it to align with this engine. This is nothing major and can be done fairly quick, with two holes. This will drastically reduce the vibrations and make the bike much more enjoyable to ride. Some users also put a small piece of rubber spacers between the mount and the engine to further reduce vibrations.

Cush Drive Upgrade
The factory cush drives in these are extremely brittle and can be often damaged right from the factory. Switching to the OEM Honda Grom cush drives is a great option. If you are seeing any slop in the rear wheel or feel like you are losing power on hard acceleration, this is a good place to start. This can also wear out quickly and prevent wheelies if you stunt the bike. Pair this with other rear wheel mods at the same time once we are inside.

Once inside for the cush drives, replace the cheaper chinese bearings with some high quality All Balls Racing bearings. These are a direct fit and will allow the bike to roll much smoother. Using your old wheel axle as a punch, you can easily remove the old bearings and press in the new ones gently with a hammer. Upgrading the rear wheel axle is also a good idea, as the stock one can be prone to bending. If you have not done so already, upgrade your chain.

3/8" Engine Mount Bolts
The stock engine mount bolts on these bikes are prone to being weak and snapping. If you feel any new vibrations or hear any new noises, this is a good place to start. The most popular option is to replace the stock bolts with 3/8" grade 8 bolts. This is a direct fit and will prevent any future issues. Simply drill into the old mounting holes to allow this much larger bolt to fit. This also greatly reduces vibrations and makes the bike feel much more solid. This is a bit more of a demanding job, but it is a very important one. It can be helpful to have a jack or something to support the engine while you are realigning the holes. Spend the extra money and get the long drill bit to clear the frame, it will make your life much easier.

Enjoy The Smooth Ride
With these upgrades, you should have a much smoother ride, ready for thousands of miles to be put on. Comfort mods are also a great idea to look into next.
